This site was designed to give creative ideas, encouragement and practical help to those who are teaching children music. It is also created with the purpose of assisting workers and directors to help children learn how to use music to worship the Lord. Ideas for singing skills, encouragement, positive reinforcement, recruitment, teaching musical and Biblical concepts, organization, and performance will be shared throughout the year. This site will contain suggestions which can be used by children's choirs, camps, retreats, Christian schools, home schools, day cares, or any children's event where music is used. The activities included have been gleaned from over thirty years of working with preschool and elementary children and come from a heart that loves to see children learn music and love God.
Thanks for being a part of this site!

1. The CD locks up during the performance and stutters, the children think its funny, and never regain their composure.
2. You are nearing 60 years old, still doing children's choirs, and you are still the one climbing to the top of the set to hang props.
3. You did not lose your cool when the leading role had their championship soccer game during dress rehearsal and they were an hour late, the t-shirts for the performance were 2 sizes too small, the church was locked when you got there for dress rehearsal and they had changed the lock and your key didn't fit, one child threw up...all over you, and the sound guy forgot to show up.
4. The electricy went off during the performance and the acapella singing by candle light ended up being more inspirational thaall the lights, video, and sound track could have ever been.
5. Your children's choir time got pre-empted by Awanas...but that's OK...you just moved the time to Sunday morning during Children's Church and attendance is better than ever.
Congratulations! You survived! |
